As HOST at Parsons, you are our guests’ first point of contact with our establishment. Keeping in mind that first impressions count, your are in charge of setting the tone, and keeping the pace of service so that guests have a smooth and enjoyable experience.

DUTIES

• Keep track of tables, reservations, and availability of tables in the restaurant
• Monitor tables and waiting list using an app 
• Communicate wait times and relevant information to guests in a professional and courteous manner
• Excellent knowledge of floor plan and sections
• Be aware of servers in charge, communicate with supervisors to ensure flow of service
• Greet guests, guide guests to their tables, present menus and specials as required and facilitate hand-off to the server
• Check in with guests on their way out, take note of any comments they may make, and communicate with supervisor if there is any negative feedback 
• Communicate with servers and supervisor about up-coming tables, reservations, and wait lists
• Take calls and provide service as required
• Other duties may arise as needed. I.e. stock, wipe down tables, replenish water, or when need is identified
• Manage flow of guests into specific areas and sections
• Tend to special guests’ needs and requests
• Be observant of tables and identify needs as the arise, communicate them to supervisor or server
• Be observant and protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol control policies
• Issue dining charges by verifying orders, calculating taxes, and totaling bills for to-go orders
