Saikai 再会 (meaning Reunion) Original Vermont Inspired IPA (with Blood Oranges) marks our second release in a series of beers meant to evoke formative collaborations between our brewmaster and Shaun Hill of Hill Farmstead Brewery. This IPA is inspired by a beer called Friendship & Reunion, which was first brewed in Greensboro, Vermont at a time when what some would classify as "modern American IPAs" were still in their infancy. Heavily dry-hopped (by Godspeed standards) with Citra, Simcoe, Amarillo, and Centennial hops, Saikai features tantalizing notes of ripe mango, grapefruit, and mandarin orange with a balanced pithy bitterness in the finish. The calculated addition of blood oranges offers a spritely layer of complexity that conjures up something surprisingly akin to fresh raspberries. Here's to being able to reunite once again some day soon!
